Two ceiling-mounted spool units feed dual belt straps down around your rooftop tent box.

Wind the manual handle – the worm drive gearbox does the heavy work, lifting the tent clear of your roof rack and locking it safely overhead.

Mount to Ceiling

Install the two spool units to a structurally suitable ceiling above your parking position. DIY-friendly with standard tools – most installs done in under two hours.

Feed the Straps

Lower the dual belt straps and wrap them securely around your rooftop tent box only — not the rack, not the car. The tent takes the load, not your paint.

Wind & Lift

Turn the manual winding handle. The worm drive gearbox raises the tent smoothly off the rack – holds it locked in position automatically.

Drive Away

Your tent stores safely overhead. Drive out. Come back, reverse in, lower, clip on. You’re loaded and ready for the next trip in minutes.

How much weight can the Ozil Lifts® RTT Hoist lift?

The Ozil Lifts® Roof Top Tent Hoist is rated to 100kg working load limit — covering the vast majority of hard and soft shell rooftop tents on the Australian market.

Is a roof top tent hoist worth it?

If you drive daily with your RTT mounted, yes — removing it when you’re not camping restores fuel efficiency, returns full vehicle clearance for multi-storey car parks and drive-throughs, and protects the tent from UV degradation between trips.

What rooftop tents is the Ozil Lifts® hoist compatible with?

The hoist is compatible with all major hard and soft shell rooftop tents and roof storage capsules up to 100kg including: Adventure Kings, Darche, 23Zero, iKamper, OZtrail, Dune, Motop, Drifta Stockton. Adjustable width settings to suit a wide range of sizes.

Can I install a roof top tent hoist myself?

Yes — the Ozil Lifts® RTT Hoist is DIY and installations are complete in under two hours. It must be mounted to a structurally suitable ceiling.

Where can I buy a roof top tent hoist in Australia?

The Ozil Lifts® Roof Top Tent Hoist is available only through ozillifts.com. It’s Australian-engineered and ships nationally.

How do you store a rooftop tent when not in use?

The best way to store a rooftop tent is indoors, off the vehicle — lifted overhead in your garage using a purpose-built RTT hoist. Leaving it mounted on your roof rack between trips costs you fuel efficiency, vehicle clearance, and accelerates UV and weather damage to the canvas and hardware. We were able to get a surprising amount of our possessions off the floor with two Ozil Lifts.  Our workable space had been very tight.

Due to having downsized twice from living on a small farm to currently living in an over 50's environment, we didn't want to completely eliminate all that we had been able to do with our lives.

There was only so much of our possessions that we wanted to get rid of in the process.

As we were not quite ready to expunge our entire lives, the Ozil Lifts have meant that we could retain much of our usable gear.  It has also made our gear easily accessible.  Thank-you Jacqui
